Summer
Stage

2000
I had
a fantastic time helping to celebrate the 25th anniversary
of Summer Stage in my hometown of Upper Darby, PA. Summer
Stage is an amazing summer theater program that gave me (and
many, many talented young people) their first introduction
to the performing arts. I spent several wonderful summers
there — first, as a budding performer, and then later,
as a director/ choreographer — in the early days. It
was great fun seeing lots of old friends, performing again,
and paying homage to Summer Stage’s founder Harry Dietzler,
who in many ways was a role model for me in terms of the important
work of bringing the arts into the lives of young people.
