Trip to
Costa Rica- For several weeks, I was in Quepos/ Manuel Antonio
in Costa Rica, enjoying the beaches and the rainforest, and
taking a well-deserved vacation. More interestingly, I enrolled
in Spanish language immersion classes at COSI (Costa Rica
Spanish Institute), and had the opportunity to study and travel
the countryside with a great teacher named Norman; and for
a few days, to teach basic English to some absolutely adorable
kids in the local elementary school.
I had hoped to come back rested, relaxed, and ready to enter
grad school. It was a beautiful place and extremely therapeutic,
but the events of September 11 sort of destroyed the relaxed
and rested feeling. It was terrible watching the events unfold,
being so far away, out of my country.
